2026 Annual Meeting and Member Social

On Wednesday, May 27th, we will return to the Catawba Island Club for our Annual Meeting. Doors will open at 6:30 with a social hour. At 7:15 we will have a brief business meeting followed by remarks and presentations. The Annual Meeting will NOT have an online option this year.

On Thursday, May 28th, we will have our Member Social for those who cannot attend the CIC meeting. To make the meeting more centrally available, we will be moving the meeting to the Holiday Inn Northeast in Mentor (7701 Reynolds Rd; Mentor, Ohio 44060). Doors will also open at 6:30 with a social hour, and at about 7:15 we will have a short summary of the business meeting followed by remarks and presentations.

We have invited lawmakers, OLG leadership, and policy team staff to both events to share with you the latest information on our legislation. which we are calling the M.E.R.R.I.L.L. Act, that will:

  • Codify the Constitutional Provisions of MERRILL as it relates to key concepts like erosion, avulsion, reliction, etc., respecting landowner deeds
  • Establish a three-tier permit process that greatly simplifies the process and cost for most coastal structures
  • Eliminates leases for projects on privately deeded property and establishes a process to review and eliminate previously entered into leases
  • Provide additional public input and oversight into state agency actions.

There is no cost to attend either event, however we do ask that you register by May 13th, or as soon as possible.
