What you can do.

•  Join us.   Become a member of the OLG.   Fill out and return our application form, or join on-line.

  • Understand the issues. Read background articles on our web page, follow our pending lawsuit and watch for news on the introduction of new legislation. Also read the positions held by the State and ODNR.
  • Tell your neighbors and friends about OLG and encourage them to join.
  • Contact your local government officials!   Ask them for their opinion and their support of the shoreline owner's position.
  • Volunteer your time. Offer to help. Meetings are being held in all areas of northern Ohio to familiarize property owners of the issues. There is no paid staff for the OLG; volunteers do all work.
  • NOW is the time to write/email/call your Senator about the issues. Do it TODAY!

To locate your Senator, go to the 127th General Assembly web site, and type in your zip code. Also available is a list of all Senators, along with a bio and their mailing address, phone number and email address.

Remember to keep your correspondence/calls short and to the point, always give your name and address.    Address letters this way:

The Honorable Bill Harris, State House, Senate Room 201, Columbus, OH 43215    Dear Senator Harris

or:

Speaker of the House, John Husted, 77S. High Street, 14th Floor, Columbus, OH 43215-6111  Dear Representative Husted

Join OLG to help us finance the shoreline property owner's position. The State of Ohio is strongly supporting the Coastal Management Program and its "out-of-control" employees. Property owners across the state must unite and form a strong coalition to have their message heard in the State House and in the media.

This is not an issue that has public funds available to counter the interpretation of the State. It requires that everyone interested in protecting their rights as property owners participate in the funding of this cause.
