Dear Members:
We are out of the House with a vote of 75 for and 20 against HB 218. We now move on to the Senate.
The vote was great, but very telling. Our property rights are not assured, as there were 20 votes against something that we believe to be extremely basic. As I said before, we are drawing national attention and the lies and distortions will continue to mount. We have had one good victory in the House and hope to have another one in the Senate. But before this becomes Law, we must convince the Governor to honor our property rights.
One point that became very clear during the debates on Tuesday and Wednesday is that the "environmentalists" plan to sue the State of Ohio in order to stop this Bill, if it is ever signed into Law. We are preparing for that possibility and will tell you more as time goes on.
It is possible to read the complete bill as it passed from the House AND see and hear the final debate that took place on the House floor by using the State's Legislative web site.
Good job everyone and Happy Holidays.
Tony Yankel, President
